What is a bunded store?
Bunded storage containers are designed to safely store liquids and provide secondary containment to capture and retain any spilled liquids during an unexpected leak. Bunds are available in a range of sizes, for a variety of industries, from storing 1 container or drum, to multiple drums and IBC’s. Bunded stores are typically large metal containers with a built-in sump in which drums or containers of liquid are stored. Bunded stores are an essential piece of equipment that allows industrial and commercial companies to comply with all government legislation and requirements to protect people and the environment. An incorrect or poorly maintained liquid storage solution can result in the following:
- Risk to employees health and well being
- Irreversible environmental damage
- Heavy fines and bad publicity
