Drip trays are designed to catch small leaks and spills. Lightweight and compact they are ideal for storing small containers such as paint cans, small bottles or small drums ensuring that any failure of the container does not result in a spill and is safely contained within the tray. Low profile drip trays and spill trays can also be used under machinery to catch leaks and spills from causing further hazards.

Although it may not seem an immediate hazard, a dripping container or machine can cause hazards to people and the environment and must be contained quickly. Drip trays provide secondary containment for bottles, cans and tins of various sizes. For larger containers such as drums and IBCs we supply a range of spill pallets for safe secondary containment in line with legislation. For more details regarding liquid storage regulations, read our guide to secondary containment.

Our drip trays are available in a variety of options to suit your needs.

You will need to understand the type of liquid you need to contain as this will determine the type of material your drip tray needs to be made from. For example, some chemicals will react with metal so a plastic drip tray would be required.

You also need to consider the quantity of the container(s). You can store more than one container within a drip tray as long as the liquids inside are the same, and there is enough space and capacity should the containers fail.  You must take special care that incompatible liquids are stored in separate drip trays to prevent them mixing or coming into contact with each other and causing further hazards.

Drip trays are also available with a variety of designs to benefit different applications. For example many have grids available allowing any drips to fall into the tray to your container does not sit on the spilt fluid. There are also drip trays with ribbed bases available, some drip trays have handles or a lip for easy manoeuvring.

If you are unsure which type of drip tray you need, please feel free to contact our team and we would be happy to suggest the best solution for your requirements.
